Star Associations
Star associations are groups of stars that share a common origin and are located close to each other in space. These stars typically form from the same molecular cloud and move together through the galaxy. They can be identified by their similar ages and chemical compositions, which help astronomers understand stellar evolution.
One well-known example of a star association is the Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters. This group contains several bright stars that are easily visible to the naked eye. Studying star associations like the Pleiades provides valuable insights into the life cycles of stars and the dynamics of stellar groups.
