Standard Oil of California
Standard Oil of California, also known as Chevron Corporation, was originally part of the larger Standard Oil trust founded by John D. Rockefeller in the late 19th century. Established in 1906, it focused on oil exploration, production, and refining, primarily in the western United States.
Over the years, Standard Oil of California expanded its operations globally, becoming a major player in the energy sector. In 1984, it officially rebranded as Chevron, reflecting its diverse interests in oil, natural gas, and renewable energy sources, while continuing to be one of the largest oil companies in the world.
