Stafford Loans
Stafford Loans are federal student loans designed to help students pay for their education. They are available to both undergraduate and graduate students and come in two types: subsidized and unsubsidized. Subsidized loans do not accrue interest while the student is in school, while unsubsidized loans do.
To qualify for Stafford Loans, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The amount a student can borrow depends on their year in school and whether they are dependent or independent. Repayment typically begins six months after graduation or when the student drops below half-time enrollment.
