St. Stephen
St. Stephen is recognized as the first Christian martyr in the New Testament of the Bible. He was a deacon in the early Christian church in Jerusalem and is known for his strong faith and eloquent preaching. His story is primarily found in the Book of Acts, where he is described as performing miracles and speaking boldly about Jesus.
Stephen's martyrdom occurred when he was accused of blasphemy and brought before the Sanhedrin, the Jewish council. He was ultimately stoned to death, making him a symbol of faith and sacrifice for Christians. His feast day is celebrated on December 26 in many Christian traditions.
