St. Mary
St. Mary, often referred to as the Virgin Mary, is a central figure in Christianity, known as the mother of Jesus Christ. She is venerated for her role in the Incarnation, where Christians believe she conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Mary is also recognized in Islam as Maryam, the mother of Isa (Jesus), highlighting her significance in both religions.
Mary is celebrated in various traditions and has numerous feast days, including the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and the Feast of the Assumption. Many churches and cathedrals are dedicated to her, and she is often depicted in art, symbolizing purity and compassion.
