St. Hugh of Lincoln
St. Hugh of Lincoln was a 12th-century English bishop known for his dedication to the Church and his efforts in reforming monastic life. Born in France, he became a Carthusian monk and later the Bishop of Lincoln in 1186. Hugh was recognized for his commitment to education and the welfare of the poor, as well as his opposition to corruption within the Church.
Hugh is also remembered for his role in the construction of Lincoln Cathedral, which became a significant architectural achievement of the time. He was canonized as a saint in 1220, and his feast day is celebrated on November 17, honoring his contributions to the Church and society.
