St. Corbinian
St. Corbinian was an 8th-century Christian missionary and the founder of the Diocese of Freising in Bavaria, Germany. He is known for his efforts to spread Christianity in the region and is often depicted with a bear, which is said to represent a miracle he performed.
He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church, with his feast day celebrated on September 8. St. Corbinian's legacy includes the establishment of churches and the promotion of education and religious practices among the local population. His life and work contributed significantly to the Christianization of southern Germany.
