St. Bernard Dog
The St. Bernard is a large dog breed known for its gentle temperament and impressive size. Originally bred in the Swiss Alps, these dogs were used by monks at the St. Bernard Pass to rescue travelers lost in snowstorms. They are characterized by their thick fur, which helps them withstand cold weather, and their friendly, loyal nature.
St. Bernards typically weigh between 110 to 200 pounds and stand about 25 to 30 inches tall at the shoulder. They are known for their strong build and powerful muscles, making them excellent working dogs. Despite their size, they are often good with children and make loving family pets.
