Spring Peepers
Spring Peepers are small frogs known for their distinctive, high-pitched calls that signal the arrival of spring. They typically measure about one inch in length and have a light brown or tan coloration with dark spots. These frogs are commonly found in wetlands, ponds, and forests across North America.
During the breeding season, which usually occurs in early spring, male Spring Peepers call to attract females. Their calls can be heard in large choruses, creating a symphony of sound in the evening. After mating, females lay eggs in shallow water, where the tadpoles will develop into adult frogs.
