Sphinx's riddle
The Sphinx's riddle is a famous puzzle from ancient mythology, particularly associated with the Greek myth of Oedipus. The Sphinx, a creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human, posed a riddle to travelers to challenge their intelligence. Those who could not solve it were said to be devoured by the Sphinx.
The riddle itself is: "What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening?" The answer is humans, who crawl as infants (morning), walk on two legs as adults (noon), and use a cane in old age (evening).
