Spellplague
The Spellplague is a catastrophic magical event in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting of Dungeons & Dragons. It began in the year 1385 DR when the goddess Mystra, the deity of magic, was killed. This event caused a chaotic surge of magic that altered the fabric of reality, leading to widespread devastation across the realms.
The Spellplague resulted in the transformation of landscapes, the emergence of new creatures, and the destabilization of magical practices. Many spellcasters found their abilities changed or diminished, while some areas became dangerous zones of wild magic. The aftermath of the Spellplague significantly shaped the history and geography of the Forgotten Realms.
