Spanish Peaks
The Spanish Peaks are a pair of prominent mountains located in southern Colorado, part of the Sangre de Cristo Range. The two peaks, known as West Spanish Peak and East Spanish Peak, rise to elevations of 13,626 feet and 12,688 feet, respectively. They are notable for their distinctive shapes and geological features, attracting hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.
These mountains are surrounded by the Spanish Peaks Wilderness Area, which offers diverse wildlife and scenic landscapes. The area is rich in history, with ties to Native American cultures and early European explorers. The peaks are also a popular destination for photography and nature observation.
