Soviet Typhoon-class
The Soviet Typhoon-class is a class of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines developed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Designed to carry intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), these submarines are among the largest ever built, measuring over 170 meters in length. They were intended to serve as a strategic deterrent against potential nuclear threats.
The Typhoon-class submarines are equipped with advanced technology, including multiple missile launch tubes and sophisticated sonar systems. A total of six submarines were constructed, with the first entering service in 1980. They remain a significant part of Russia's naval capabilities today, reflecting the enduring legacy of the Cold War.
