Soviet Intelligence
Soviet Intelligence refers to the various intelligence agencies and operations of the former Soviet Union, primarily during the Cold War. The most notable agency was the KGB, which handled state security, espionage, and counterintelligence. It played a crucial role in gathering information about foreign governments and military activities.
In addition to the KGB, other organizations like the GRU (Main Intelligence Directorate) focused on military intelligence. These agencies employed a range of tactics, including surveillance, infiltration, and the use of spies, to protect Soviet interests and influence global events during a time of intense geopolitical rivalry.
