South Staffordshire Regiment
The South Staffordshire Regiment was a line infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1881. It was created through the amalgamation of the 38th (Staffordshire) Regiment of Foot and the 80th (Staffordshire Volunteers) Regiment of Foot. The regiment served in various conflicts, including both World Wars, and was known for its distinctive cap badge featuring a Staffordshire knot.
In 1959, the South Staffordshire Regiment was merged with the North Staffordshire Regiment to form the Staffordshire Regiment. The regiment's history is marked by its contributions to military campaigns and its commitment to the local community in the Staffordshire area.
