South Korean football
South Korean football, governed by the Korea Football Association, has a rich history and is one of the most popular sports in the country. The professional league, known as the K League, was established in 1983 and features clubs like FC Seoul and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
The national team, known as the Taeguk Warriors, has qualified for the FIFA World Cup multiple times, with their best performance in 2002 when they reached the semifinals. South Korea also has a strong youth development system, producing talented players who compete both domestically and internationally.
