South Korean Football
South Korean football, governed by the Korea Football Association, has a rich history and is one of the most popular sports in the country. The national team, known as the Taeguk Warriors, has qualified for the FIFA World Cup multiple times, with their best performance in 2002 when they reached the semifinals.
The domestic league, called the K League, features professional clubs that compete annually. Established in 1983, the league has produced many talented players who have gone on to play internationally.
