Sound Suppressors
A sound suppressor, often referred to as a silencer, is a device attached to the muzzle of a firearm to reduce the noise produced when the gun is fired. It works by slowing and cooling the gases that exit the barrel, which decreases the sound level. Suppressors can also help improve accuracy by reducing recoil and muzzle rise.
While commonly associated with hunting and shooting sports, sound suppressors are also used in military and law enforcement applications to minimize noise and conceal the shooter's location. In many regions, they are regulated by law, requiring permits or registration for ownership and use.
