Sons of the American Revolution
The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is a patriotic organization founded in 1889. It is dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the American Revolution. Membership is open to male descendants of those who supported the cause of American independence, including soldiers, patriots, and signers of the Declaration of Independence.
The SAR promotes education, historical preservation, and community service. It organizes events, commemorates significant historical anniversaries, and supports various educational programs. The organization also collaborates with other groups, such as the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), to honor the contributions of those who fought for American freedom.
