Solfeggio
Solfeggio is a music education method used to teach pitch and sight-singing through the use of syllables. The system assigns specific syllables—do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti—to the notes of the scale, helping musicians understand and reproduce melodies. This approach is beneficial for developing ear training and musical literacy.
Historically, Solfeggio has roots in ancient music theory and was popularized in the 11th century by Guido of Arezzo, an Italian monk. Today, it remains a fundamental technique in music education, allowing students to learn and perform music more effectively.
