Soka
Soka is a form of Japanese Buddhism that emphasizes the importance of individual empowerment and personal happiness. It is based on the teachings of Nichiren, a 13th-century monk who advocated for the chanting of the Lotus Sutra as a means to attain enlightenment. Soka practitioners believe that by chanting "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo," they can transform their lives and contribute positively to society.
The most prominent organization associated with Soka is the Soka Gakkai International (SGI), which promotes peace, culture, and education through its activities. SGI has millions of members worldwide and engages in various social initiatives, including interfaith dialogue and humanitarian efforts, aiming to foster a more harmonious world.
