Softball Fields
A softball field is a designated area for playing the sport of softball. It typically features a diamond-shaped infield with four bases: first base, second base, third base, and home plate. The outfield is the grassy area beyond the infield, where players catch fly balls and field grounders. The distance between bases is usually 60 feet, and the pitcher's mound is 43 feet from home plate in women's softball and 46 feet in men's softball.
Softball fields can vary in size and surface, with some having grass and others featuring artificial turf. The field is often surrounded by fences to keep the ball in play and to define the boundaries. Softball fields may also include dugouts for players, bullpens for pitchers, and spectator seating for fans.
