Soda History
Soda, also known as soft drink, has its origins in the late 18th century when carbonated water was first created by Joseph Priestley. In 1772, he discovered a method to infuse water with carbon dioxide, leading to the development of fizzy drinks. The first commercial soda, Soda Water, was sold in the early 1800s, and soon after, flavored syrups were added to create various soft drinks.
By the late 19th century, iconic brands like Coca-Cola and Pepsi emerged, popularizing soda across the United States. The invention of the soda fountain in the 1830s further boosted sales, making soda a staple in American culture. Today, soda remains a popular beverage worldwide, with countless flavors and varieties available.
