Snowcocks
Snowcocks are large birds belonging to the family Phasianidae, which also includes pheasants. They are primarily found in the mountainous regions of Central Asia, particularly in countries like Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. These birds are known for their striking plumage, which often features a mix of white, gray, and brown colors, helping them blend into their rocky habitats.
These birds are ground-dwelling and are well-adapted to their environment, using their strong legs to navigate steep terrains. Snowcocks are also known for their distinctive calls, especially during the breeding season, when males vocalize to attract females. Their diet mainly consists of seeds, grasses, and other vegetation.
