Snare drums
A snare drum is a cylindrical percussion instrument commonly used in various music genres, including rock, jazz, and marching bands. It consists of a shell, typically made from wood or metal, and features a set of wires called snare wires stretched across the bottom head. When struck, these wires create a sharp, crisp sound that distinguishes the snare drum from other drums.
Snare drums are usually played with drumsticks and are a key component of a drum kit. They are often positioned in front of the drummer for easy access. The tension of the drumheads and the snare wires can be adjusted to alter the sound, making the snare drum a versatile instrument in both live performances and studio recordings.
