Snake Venom
Snake venom is a complex mixture of proteins and enzymes produced by certain species of snakes. It serves various purposes, primarily for immobilizing and digesting prey. The composition of venom can vary significantly between species, with some containing neurotoxins that affect the nervous system, while others have hemotoxins that target blood cells and tissues.
When a snake bites, it injects venom through its fangs into the victim. This can lead to various effects, including pain, swelling, and in severe cases, paralysis or death. Antivenom is often used as a treatment for snake bites, neutralizing the effects of the venom and helping to prevent serious complications.
