Smeagol
Smeagol is a fictional character from J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium, primarily featured in "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings." Originally a river-dwelling creature, he was transformed into the twisted being known as Gollum after finding the One Ring, which granted him longevity but also corrupted his mind and spirit.
Smeagol's character represents the struggle between good and evil, as he often displays a dual personality. His original self, Smeagol, is curious and innocent, while Gollum is deceitful and consumed by his obsession with the Ring. This internal conflict drives much of the story's tension.
