Smart Studios was a recording studio located in Madison, Wisconsin, known for its influential role in the alternative rock scene during the 1990s. Founded by Butch Vig, the drummer of Garbage, the studio became a hub for many notable bands, including Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins.
