Sm'algyax
Sm'algyax is a language spoken by the Tsimshian people, an Indigenous group located in the coastal regions of British Columbia, Canada. It belongs to the Salishan language family and is known for its complex phonetics and rich oral traditions.
The language has several dialects, including Coast Tsimshian and Nisga'a. Efforts are being made to revitalize Sm'algyax, as it is considered endangered due to the decline in fluent speakers. Educational programs and community initiatives aim to preserve and promote the language among younger generations.
