Slovenian Independence
Slovenian independence refers to the process by which Slovenia became a sovereign nation, separating from Yugoslavia. This movement gained momentum in the late 1980s, fueled by a desire for self-determination and national identity. On June 25, 1991, Slovenia officially declared its independence.
Following the declaration, a brief conflict known as the Ten-Day War ensued, during which Slovenia defended its sovereignty against the Yugoslav People's Army. By January 15, 1992, Slovenia was recognized as an independent state by the international community, marking a significant milestone in its history.
