Slavic history
Slavic history begins with the emergence of the Slavic peoples in Eastern Europe around the 5th century AD. They initially lived in small tribes and gradually expanded across the region, forming various states and communities. The Kievan Rus, established in the 9th century, is one of the earliest and most significant Slavic states, influencing the culture and politics of Eastern Europe.
Over the centuries, Slavic nations experienced various invasions and migrations, leading to the formation of distinct groups, such as the Poles, Czechs, Russians, and Bulgarians. The spread of Christianity in the 9th century further unified many Slavic peoples, shaping their cultural and religious identities.
