The Skyros horse is a rare breed native to the island of Skyros in Greece. Known for its small size, typically standing around 12 to 14 hands high, this breed has a sturdy build and a gentle temperament. Skyros horses are often recognized by their unique coat colors, which can range from gray to bay, and their long, flowing manes.
Historically, the Skyros horse played a significant role in local culture, used for both work and transportation.
