Sixpence None the Richer is an American alternative rock band formed in 1992 in New Braunfels, Texas. The group is best known for their melodic sound and harmonious vocals, often blending elements of pop and folk. Their music gained widespread popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s, particularly with hits like "Kiss Me" and "There She Goes."
The band originally disbanded in 2001 but reunited in 2007, continuing to release new music and tour. Their name is derived from a line in C.S. Lewis's book "Mere Christianity," reflecting their Christian influences and themes in their lyrics.
