Six Realms
The "Six Realms" is a concept in Buddhism that describes the different states of existence in the cycle of samsara, or rebirth. These realms include the God Realm, where beings experience great pleasure; the Demi-God Realm, characterized by jealousy and conflict; the Human Realm, which offers the potential for enlightenment; the Animal Realm, marked by ignorance; the Hungry Ghost Realm, where beings suffer from insatiable desires; and the Hell Realm, filled with intense suffering.
Each realm represents a different level of suffering and attachment, influencing the spiritual journey of beings. The ultimate goal in Buddhism is to escape this cycle and attain nirvana, a state of liberation and peace. Understanding the Six Realms helps practitioners recognize the nature of existence and the importance of ethical living and mindfulness.
