Sisi (Empress)
Sisi, also known as Empress Elisabeth of Austria, was born on December 24, 1837. She became the wife of Emperor Franz Joseph I and was known for her beauty and free spirit. Sisi was often unhappy with the rigid court life in Vienna and sought solace in travel and personal pursuits, including horse riding and fashion.
Despite her struggles, Sisi was a beloved figure in Austria and Hungary. She was deeply interested in Hungarian culture and played a significant role in the Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867. Tragically, she was assassinated in 1898, leaving a lasting legacy in European history.
