Sir William Anson
Sir William Anson was a British naval officer and politician, born on September 8, 1843. He is best known for his role as the First Sea Lord of the Royal Navy from 1903 to 1907, where he played a significant part in modernizing the fleet and improving naval strategy. Anson's leadership helped prepare the navy for the challenges of the early 20th century.
In addition to his naval career, Anson served as a member of Parliament and was involved in various political matters. He was also a prominent figure in the Royal Naval College, where he contributed to the education and training of future naval leaders. Anson passed away on June 20, 1929.
