Sir Henry Segrave
Sir Henry Segrave was a British motor racing driver and speed record holder, born on September 22, 1896. He is best known for his achievements in both land and water speed records during the 1920s and 1930s. Segrave became the first person to break the 200 mph barrier on land in 1929, driving the Golden Arrow.
In addition to his land speed records, Segrave also set a water speed record in 1930 with the Miss England II. His contributions to motorsport were significant, and he was awarded a knighthood in 1932 for his accomplishments. Tragically, Segrave died in a racing accident in 1930.
