Sioux Wars
The Sioux Wars were a series of conflicts between the Sioux Nation and the United States government during the 19th century. These wars primarily occurred in the Great Plains and were driven by disputes over land, resources, and the U.S. government's policies towards Native Americans. Key battles included the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876 and the Battle of Wounded Knee in 1890.
The conflicts were marked by the resistance of the Sioux people to encroachments on their territory and way of life. The wars ultimately led to the forced relocation of many Sioux tribes and significant changes in U.S. policy regarding Native American affairs.
