Singapore Memorial
The Singapore Memorial is a commemorative site located at the Kranji War Cemetery in Singapore. It honors the soldiers of the British Empire who lost their lives during World War II, particularly those who fought in the Malayan Campaign and the Battle of Singapore. The memorial features a large stone structure with the names of over 24,000 servicemen inscribed on it.
Inaugurated in 1967, the memorial serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made during the war. It is part of the larger Commonwealth War Graves Commission efforts to preserve the memory of those who served and died in conflicts around the world.
