Simple Past
The Simple Past tense is used to describe actions that were completed at a specific time in the past. It often includes time expressions like yesterday, last week, or in 2010. For example, in the sentence "She visited her grandmother," the verb "visited" indicates that the action is finished.
To form the Simple Past, regular verbs typically add "-ed" to the base form, such as "play" becoming "played." Irregular verbs, however, change in unique ways, like "go" becoming "went." This tense helps convey clear timelines in storytelling or recounting events.
