Sikh faith
The Sikh faith is a monotheistic religion that originated in the Punjab region of India in the 15th century. Founded by Guru Nanak, it emphasizes the belief in one God and the teachings of ten successive Gurus. Sikhs follow the Guru Granth Sahib, their holy scripture, which contains hymns and writings that guide their spiritual and moral lives.
Central to Sikhism are the principles of equality, community service, and devotion to God. Sikhs practice seva, or selfless service, and often gather in Gurdwaras, their places of worship, to share meals and support one another. The faith encourages followers to live honest lives and engage in social justice.
