Sigurd I
Sigurd I, also known as Sigurd the Crusader, was a king of Norway who reigned from 1103 to 1130. He is best known for leading a military expedition to the Holy Land during the Crusades, where he participated in the siege of Jerusalem and established alliances with local rulers.
Sigurd I was the first Norwegian king to go on a crusade, and his journey significantly influenced Norway's relations with other European powers. Upon returning home, he focused on strengthening his kingdom and promoting Christianity, leaving a lasting legacy in Norwegian history.
