Signal Intelligence
Signal Intelligence, often abbreviated as SIGINT, refers to the collection and analysis of electronic signals and communications. This includes data from various sources such as phone calls, emails, and radio transmissions. The primary goal of SIGINT is to gather information that can help in national security, military operations, and intelligence assessments.
SIGINT is typically divided into two main categories: Communication Intelligence (COMINT), which focuses on intercepted communications, and Electronic Intelligence (ELINT), which deals with non-communication signals, such as radar emissions. Both types play a crucial role in understanding adversaries' capabilities and intentions.
