Sidney Howard
Sidney Howard was an American playwright and screenwriter, best known for his work in the early 20th century. He was born on February 26, 1891, in Terre Haute, Indiana. Howard gained prominence for his play They Knew What They Wanted, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1925.
In addition to his success in theater, Howard contributed to the film industry, writing screenplays for several notable movies. He is particularly recognized for his work on the film adaptation of Gone with the Wind, which was released in 1939. Howard's career was cut short when he died in a car accident on March 23, 1939.
