Sid Fleischman
Sid Fleischman was an American author and magician, best known for his children's books. Born on March 16, 1920, he wrote over 50 books, including the popular novel The Whipping Boy, which won the Newbery Medal in 1987. His storytelling often combined humor and adventure, captivating young readers.
In addition to his writing, Fleischman had a successful career as a magician, performing under the name "The Great Sid."
