Siberian chipmunk
The Siberian chipmunk (Eutamias sibiricus) is a small rodent native to Siberia and parts of Northeast Asia. It is easily recognized by its distinctive stripes running down its back. These chipmunks typically measure about 8 to 10 inches long, including their bushy tails, and weigh around 2 to 5 ounces.
Siberian chipmunks are primarily ground-dwelling animals, often found in forests, grasslands, and gardens. They are known for their burrowing habits, where they store food such as seeds and nuts for winter. Their diet also includes fruits, insects, and small invertebrates, making them omnivorous.
