Siamese crocodile
The Siamese crocodile (Crocodylus siamensis) is a freshwater crocodile native to Southeast Asia, particularly found in countries like Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. It typically inhabits rivers, lakes, and swamps, preferring slow-moving waters. This species is smaller than other crocodiles, usually growing up to 3 meters (10 feet) in length.
Siamese crocodiles are listed as critically endangered due to habitat loss, hunting, and illegal trade. Conservation efforts are underway to protect their remaining populations and restore their natural habitats. They are also bred in captivity to help increase their numbers and raise awareness about their plight.
