Shrove Tuesday
Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, is the day before Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent in the Christian calendar. Traditionally, it is a day for feasting and using up rich foods like eggs, sugar, and fats before the fasting period of Lent begins.
Many people celebrate Shrove Tuesday by making and eating pancakes, which is why it is often referred to as Pancake Day. In some cultures, it is also a time for festivities and parades, as communities come together to enjoy the last day of indulgence before the solemnity of Lent.
