Shoulder Impingement
Shoulder impingement occurs when the tendons of the rotator cuff become irritated or inflamed as they pass through the shoulder joint. This condition often results from repetitive overhead activities, leading to pain and limited range of motion.
Symptoms typically include pain when lifting the arm, especially above shoulder height, and discomfort during activities like reaching or throwing. Treatment options may involve rest, physical therapy, and anti-inflammatory medications to reduce swelling and improve shoulder function. In some cases, surgical intervention may be necessary to relieve pressure on the tendons.
