Ship Commissioning
Ship commissioning is the process of preparing a newly built or refurbished vessel for its intended use. This involves a series of inspections, tests, and trials to ensure that all systems and equipment function correctly. The goal is to verify that the ship meets safety and performance standards before it is officially delivered to the owner.
During commissioning, various teams, including engineers and technicians, work together to check everything from the hull to the navigation systems. Once all tests are successfully completed, the ship is formally accepted and can begin its operational life, often marked by a ceremonial event known as the christening.
